Welcome to Point of Order, the blog that follows the triumphs, fiascos and political chicanery of Parliament from within. Although first and foremost a comment piece written by a parliamentary bag carrier, the blog seeks to steer away from the entrenched ideological standpoints that so often give politics a bad name, unashamedly championing instead pragmatic, evidence-based policy that favours fact over fiction.
The perceived dislocation between our elected representatives in Westminster and the masses that put them there has never seemed so great. By discussing some of the key issues of the day, including those that slip through the media’s gaze, these posts aim to offer an impartial, candid insight into parliamentary life and how it works for the common good (and sometimes doesn’t).
